This is pretty sweet, but if a predator can run faster than you, for long enough to catch up to you… you’re kinda screwed if you don’t have a weapon/technological advantage over the predator.

because i know the baebz won’t want me either way
haha, he read a book called, “the muscular ideal”. Sorry, bro. You will like your body more than most women ever will.
This guy is missing every point I could possibly think of…
“if it’s not one way, it’s obviously the other!” this basically sums up what he says.
It also seems he doesn’t have any concept of what exercise does. the problem is not one thing because he doesn’t think it’s the other. It is a multitude of problems. too many calories, not enough exercise (quite frankly, you don’t need a lick of it, but it burns calories and makes you look nice, etc, etc healthy, life span, blah blah) and a combination of an imbalance of macro and micro nutrients in our diets. Quite possibly way too many carbs in one persons diet and not enough fat or protein. Another may be getting way too much fat and not enough protein, all while consuming too many calories, and not expending enough. Although it’s not even as simple as this (thermo-dynamic effect, fiber intake, metabolism, tape worms etc)
If you eat 5,000 calories a day of poptarts and vegetable oil and are overweight, eating 5,000 calories of vegetables and fruits is still going to amount to 5,000 calories. While this also brings up the debate of “is a calorie a calorie”, i’ll cover lose ends by saying, “these diets could quite possibly differ in weight loss.” Because of insulin, thermo-dynamic effect, micro and macro-nutrient content, and probably the fact that eating 5,000 calories of vegetables would be hard. also tapes worms and stuff.
So. thank you, random dude, for telling America their hard efforts will not work because apparently exercise doesn’t burn calories or provide a better body composition, carbs are the enemy, and the poor are more fat than the rest. I wouldn’t be so angered by this if he offered his theories, but he didn’t. so a summary of his “plan”: Exercise doesn’t work, counting calories won’t work (because you eat the fructose and stuff), and you can still become fat while your poor. What to do America? Realize that your efforts for weight loss are hopeless, because only eating fruits and veggies will help you. And apparently these things are hard to come by these days.
Yes. He can fly.

Says… well, not Martin Berkhan :)
scared-ofthe-world replied to your post: Leg day
Beast, dude. I’ve always struggled with legs, that’s impressive.
Thank you! my legs were lagging behind for a while, but I just keep pushing them to new limits and refused to give up on them. Good luck on your progress!!
This guy is about to heel strike sooo hard. ouch.

My squat has come a long way. I’m now up to 270lb. eight reps. Just barely. But form was perfect and it felt good. 300lb. here I come!!
The addition of the leg press after squats has really helped get my squat weight up. Leg press is at 540lb. and steadily increasing with squat weight.
Anyways. today was a good leg day. I feel like drinking a gallon of water, puking, and then sleeping. haha. but my calves haven’t felt sore in a long time and today they’re dying.
Prom Photo Fail of the Day: Prom-bound pals in Wisconsin took a detour for pics on the way to last weekend’s big event — but it wasn’t quite the detour they’d planned:
As the group crowded onto the pier Saturday, one person called out that he just heard two cracking sounds, and everyone else stopped, said Josh Orne, 17, one of the students. Without warning, part of the pier gave way, and about half the students dropped feet-first into the water.
“The girls starting screaming and basically the guys started laughing. Because it took us no time to get ready, and it took them all week to do it,” Orne said. “You know, we all realized right away, this is going to be an unbelievable story to tell.”
Orne’s mother, Sue, was taking pictures at the time, and didn’t stop when the pier gave way. One photo shows all the students in a line. The next shows half of them waist-deep in water or supporting themselves on beams while others look on in disbelief.
All the students eventually made it to prom after a second detour to pull themselves together. But Orne is almost glad it happened: “It’s going to be one of those memories where we go to our 50-year reunion and it’s like, ‘Yeah, we were the people who fell in.’”
Look at them muscle-ups!
So my lower back was sore for a while. Turns out I just wasn’t dead lifting often enough.
Is a good book, but it is not the fucking lifting bible. It really bugs me when I teach the deadlift/squat and someone says “Have you read starting strength? You have? Then why don’t you teach it like Rippetoe teaches it?”.
There are TONS of different opinions about lifting, I agree with some of that book, I disagree with some of it as well. You gotta remember there are literally thousands of coaches out there, all of whom have something to teach. Just because one of them wrote a book does not mean it is the be all, end all of fitness.
Branch out, read more, and more, and MORE. Starting Strength is good, “Lift With Your Head” by Chip Conrad is much better (in my opinion).
Never end your quest for knowledge in this industry, the more you get, the more you should want.
Old grumpy and broken. I like it. haha.
The Senate’s voting on whether or not to double your federal student loan rates.
